However, Plug-in Hybrids feature a higher capacity battery to deliver greater electric performance and electric-only range in EV mode.

    Toyota’s Plug-in Hybrids feature bigger batteries than Hybrid cars, giving them the capability to cover local trips on electric power alone in EV mode. Should the battery run low during longer drives, Toyota’s Plug-in Hybrids seamlessly switch to running on combined petrol and electric power, recharging the battery as you drive to get you to your destination.
